New consultations: shared care protocols for amiodarone and Sativex
The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Medicines Committee are seeking NENC system-wide views on adoption of two shared care protocols:
- Amiodarone
- Sativex
Comments are welcomed from across the system, including residents and patients of the NENC. Comments will be returned to the medicines committee, or its sub-committee, and used to inform implementation of the shared care protocols in NENC.

New consultation: formulary amendments for February 2023
The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Medicines Committee are seeking NENC system-wide views on adoption of the proposed formulary amendments in a new consultation.
Comments are welcomed from across the system, including residents and patients of the NENC. Comments will be returned to the medicines committee, or its sub-committee, and used to inform implementation of the decisions in NENC.

Consutation: NICE 30 day TA for eptinezumab
The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Medicines Committee are seeking NENC system-wide views on the implementation of a NICE 30 day TA, TA871: Eptinezumab for preventing migraine. Proposed formulary position and RAG status are outlined in the consultation document.

The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Medicines Committee are seeking NENC system-wide views on adoption of the North of Tyne Gateshead and North Cumbria shared care protocol for dronedarone, which is based on the national share care protocol for dronedarone.

Original news item: The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Medicines Committee are seeking NENC system-wide views on adoption of the national shared care protocol for valproate medicines in patients of child-bearing potential.
Consultation comments will be used to inform implementation of the shared care protocol in NENC, and the NENC valproate project work.

New consultation: NENC charter
The North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Medicines Committee are seeking NENC system-wide views on their draft charter, which attempts to couple the national and locally agreed medicines priorities and initiatives, and highlight the identified benefits this focussed activity will bring to the NENC integrated care system and its population.
This charter, once agreed by the medicines committee, will be submitted to the ICB executive as the key priorities for delivery by the medicines committee, its subcommittees and associated working groups. Metrics will be agreed and a dashboard will capture progress made, which in turn will support assurance reporting to the ICB. The charter is not intended to capture all medicines priorities, and it will continuously reviewed to ensure it remains current, but will be fully reviewed two years from approval. Comments are welcomed from across the system, including residents and patients of the North East and North Cumbria area.
